Frequently Asked Questions
Does the monthly time roll over?
No. The time is for troubleshooting issues and making updates or changes to your website (apart from software updates which are included). The time available to you for each month is up to the total amount stated, and re-sets on the first of each month. If you have any needs or issues that cannot be addressed or resolved within the available time it may require either additional support hours billed or in some cases the changes may require a separate project.
What happens if my website goes down, is hacked, breaks, etc?
The whole purpose of our client care plans is to provide preventative care, so with pro-active attention we hope to prevent anything like that from happening. We cannot however guarantee that things won’t happen, that an update won’t break your website, or that your website won’t be hacked. In the event that something like this does happen we will be right there to assist you in restoring your website. If your website is hacked the simplest fix may involve simply restoring from a daily backup but in the event that more extensive efforts to restore and clean your site are needed we will assist and coordinate with restoration specialists on your behalf. (Note that website restoration services will likely involve additional expense, which will not be covered by your care plan.)
What tasks are included in the dedicated support time?
Glad you asked! Content update requests and small design improvements are the most common requests, however anything website-related that can fit into your monthly support time can b e included. Be aware however that requests for new features or functions on your website will likely require a separate project and quote as those commonly will go over the monthly dedicated time and may involve additional expense for software and licenses, 3rd-party services, and etc.
What if I need more hours?
If you have a task, update, improvement, or new feature that requires more than your plan’s dedicated monthly time we will let you know in advance with an estimate of how much time we think it will take and the cost for the overage at our normal hourly development rate, and with your approval we will complete the task and bill you for the overage. If you regularly need additional time every month you can opt to upgrade your plan.
Can I really cancel anytime?
Absolutely. We are all about a mutually beneficial relationship with you and your website. we would hate to see you go but we understand that financial pressures and changing needs do happen and so we don’t lock you in to a long term support contract. Just request a cancellation via email (Contact Us) at least 3 days prior to the end of your current term and we will cancel your plan and stop the next payment.
My website was built by someone else. Can I still be on a Care Plan with you?
Care Plans are usually subscribed to for websites we have built or re-designed, however we also welcome clients looking for a positive long-term relationship with a dedicated website manager who is responsive to their needs.
We specialize in WordPress-based websites only. If your website is currently custom-built or running on some other CMS or blogging platform other than WordPress™ (and this includes proprietary platforms like Wix or GoDaddy Website Builder) you must be open to having your website re-developed using WordPress.
If your website already runs on WordPress, we need to do a Website Evaluation to become familiar with the website, determine how it was built, and identify any potential issues. We will then be able to advise you whether we can take over management of the website under a Care Plan as-is, or whether a re-build will be required to address any issues (such as outdated software).
